Educational Programs

JAAA supports programs that promote educational excellence, community service, and social development of Asian Americans.

Scholarship & International Students Program

  • Provides college scholarship award to outstanding high school senior students who plan to pursue higher education.
  • Hosts students from Asian countries. Recipients of the 2013-2014 JAAA Scholarships have been selected.

Lecture Series

  • Invites speakers on a variety of topics and social issues affecting Asian-Americans.

Cultural Programs

Asian countries such as Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, North Korea, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam have a variety of rich cultural traditions. JAAA seeks to promote Asian American’s historical and cultural heritage through these activities:

  • Asian Evening Experience

Showcases an Asian country’s arts & culture, food & drink, music & dance.

  • Asian-American Awareness Week

Features Asian Literature & Drama; Theatre, Film & Television; Music & Dance; Art & Architecture; Customs & Traditions; Photography & Fashion; Peoples & Languages; etc.

  • Asian Exhibits

Promotes art exhibits & cultural presentations through local museums, schools, and cultural organizations.

Social/Outreach Programs

JAAA encourages participation of Asian-Americans in community outreach programs and collaboration with other nonprofits regarding programs that benefit the community.

Language & Escort Assistance

  • Offers interpreters, as needed, at police stations, courts, hospitals and voting places for non-English speaking Asians.
  • Hosts and escorts international visitors from Asian countries.

Health Outreach

  • Provides free medical, dental and vision screenings by Asian-American medical professionals.

Business & Legal Advice

  • Free consultations in a variety of business and legal topics from Asian attorneys and business experts.
